Black Canyon, Holbrook

Back at the end of August my family and I went down to the mixed conifer grove in Black Canyon south of Heber. There, we saw some cool looking flies that almost had a gas mask look to their heads, along with one having red-orange coloration and the other having blue-black coloration. Aquatic plants (unknown species) in spring-fed stocktank near the mixed con. grove. The green of the aquatic plants and the red color of the algae almost gives it a Christmas-y look:
